Colonial Village offers the best of both worlds

O’Sullivan Architects is proud to be a part of the Team for Colonial Village located on a portion of the former Colonial Sheraton Golf Course.  The new Colonial Village active adult community in Lynnfield sits along a winding road, adjacent to Reedy Meadow and the Saugus River.  This natural setting is a perfect backdrop for the colonial style architecture, and gives one the feeling of being out in the country, away from the maddening crowd.   However, a wealth of conveniences are really right around the corner!  The new Market Street Lifestyle Center, with its wide array of shopping and dining opportunities, is within close proximity.  So close in fact, that as an active adult, out for an evening walk, a stroll through the shops, or even a quick bite to eat, would not be out of the question.  The project is also conveniently located within minutes of Routes 128, 95, 93 and Route 1.  The project was developed by Lynnfield Initiative for Elders (L.I.F.E.) and built by the Tocci Building Companies.

The “Village” is comprised of 12 townhomes clustered in groups of 2 or 3 units, each unit approximately 1400 square feet in size.  All units have their own private entrance and garage, allowing residents the privacy of being in a single family home, but all of the amenities within a condominium community.  The main living space in each townhome features an open floor plan with sweeping cathedral ceilings, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.  Master Bedroom suites are located on the first floor, along with laundry, and the second floors have a guest bedroom and bath, as well as open loft space.  Each unit has a full basement.

In addition to the townhomes, there are 36 apartments located in a new 3-story building, with lovely views of the new King Rail Reserve Golf Course, Reedy Meadow and the Saugus River which abut the property.  Units range from 1,000 to 1,200 square feet in size, and offer the same finishes and conveniences as the townhomes, such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and stacking laundry.  In addition, each apartment has a private balcony so residents can enjoy outdoor space and additional storage areas, located in the enclosed garage beneath the building.

The focal point of the Colonial Village community is the Clubhouse.  Centrally located, this attractive building is jam-packed with amenities to encourage residents to socialize with their neighbors, and provide additional resources to support their active lifestyles.  The look and feel of the Clubhouse is modern, yet warm and inviting.

The entry hall to the Clubhouse is elegant, furnished with an attractive wood credenza with artwork above, flanked by full glass windows that look into the kitchen space beyond.  Mailboxes for all residents of the “Village” are located in this central entry that opens up to a dramatic and inviting Great Room.  The Great Room has a cathedral ceiling and large windows looking out onto the stone patio and the river and golf course beyond.  A media wall is the focal point within the room, with sofas and comfortable chairs to encourage residents to gather, watch a movie, read, or just hang out.  The generous outdoor patio right off of the Great Room provides plenty of room for outdoor entertaining as well.

Adjacent to the Great Room is a generous sized, fully equipped kitchen featuring a large granite island with stools, café-sized tables and chairs.  The kitchen is separated from the Great Room by large French doors that can be left open or closed depending on the occasion.  These inviting spaces create the perfect setting for residents to celebrate many special occasions. For more private functions, the Clubhouse also offers a smaller dining/conference room for residents to use should they need to meet with colleagues for business or perhaps to have a private family party.
